A decisão de criar a partir do nada, centenas de milhares de milhões de dólares novos, para supostamente salvar companhias "demasiado grandes para falir", i.e. com activos superiores a um bilião (10E12) de dólares, lançará a maior potência militar do planeta num buraco negro financeiro que afectará toda a economia mundial. Outros países conheceram já este pesadelo: a Alemanha, a Argentina ou o Zimbábue. Mas o dramatismo patente no alerta de Karl Denninger dá que pensar, sobretudo porque poderemos estar cada vez mais próximos de uma III Guerra Mundial, inevitavelmente nuclear!
18-09-2008. I wonder what the plan really is for the nation as more and more lines are crossed with extra-legal executive authority. I did not expect in 2002 and 2003 that war for oil in Iraq would lead to black sites, renditions, torture, Blackwater deployed in New Orleans, and other proximate results of a lawlessness and unaccountability that remained unchallenged and unchecked. I do not know what to expect of the USA in the years to come. That worries me deeply. -- London Banker.

Last week we argued that, with the nationalization of Fannie and Freddie, comrades Bush, Paulson and Bernanke had started transforming the USA into the USSRA (United Socialist State Republic of America). This transformation of the USA into a country where there is socialism for the rich, the well connected and Wall Street (i.e. where profits are privatized and losses are socialized) continues today with the nationalization of AIG. -- Nouriel Roubini.
